2008 Annual Report

Public Policy Program

The EDN is a bridge between academic researchers and policy makers.

It has helped to raise international awareness for some of the great work of Australian economists, to educate researchers and policy makers in modern economic approaches, and to initiate novel, high-level and practically relevant research" – EDN Program Participant Survey Responses

The Emissions Trading Design Workshop organised by the EDN exposed the Commonwealth Government design team to expert input from leading US and EU experimental economists. This workshop was influential in the design of the Commonwealth's Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme. My staff attend a number of workshops hosted by the EDN. These workshops raise the skills and knowledge of policy economists." – EDN Program Participant Survey Responses
